Description
The wild and mountainous landscape of Rum has long been a place of pilgrimage for geologists. For a small island, the range of scenery will take astound you – jagged peaks, rounded hills and gentle lowlands. Rum is home to some of the oldest rocks on Earth, as well as layers of more recent rock that tells of a violent past. Rum’s low-lying neighbours –Eigg, Muck, Canna and Sanday – are part of the evidence for this dramatic history.
